Loarre Castle and Bolea
Loarre Castle, the best preserved Romanesque fortress in Europe, sits 1,070 meters above an imposing limestone rock overlooking the Hoya de Huesca.

Between fields of olives, grapes vines and almonds groves, at the foothills of the Sierra de Guara, next to the Royal road linking Huesca to Barbastro stands the church of San Miguel de Gorges which is an important temple, declared a National Monument. The Castle of Montearagón, an important Christian stronghold, was erected by the Aragonese king Sancho Ramirez and had strategic importance for the reconquest of the city of Huesca, the first step in moving towards Zaragoza.
