Huesca boasts more important cultural festivities than many larger cities throughout the year, which each year grow in size and number with festivals, events, concerts, performances, fiestas, screenings and exhibitions that suit a wide variety of interests. Although difficult to summarise them all, here are some of the most important events highlighted.
The renowned Huesca Film Festival takes place each year in June and holds a Short Film Competition which attracts some of the most important up-and-coming as well as established filmmakers from around the world whilst screening their latest films in numerous venues around the city.
The International Festival of Theatre and Dance is held in October and attracts thousands of fans. It brings some of the best professional dance and theatre companies to the city for a week to stage their performances.
We must not forget the Periferias Festival which also takes place in October and aims to merge together the many different faces of some of the most innovative creations in music, performance, visual arts and so on.
